The world’s thinnest foldable phone could completely “beat” the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
The Oppo Find N5 is claimed by the manufacturer to be the “world’s thinnest foldable phone”. This product will be launched in just over a week. Therefore, a series of technology experts are taking the opportunity to experience it early.
Slimness is definitely the main focus in the design of the Oppo Find N5 with the slogan “thin but strong”. When opened, the Oppo Find N5 is thinner than a stack of four credit cards. When holding the Oppo Find N5 in your hand, they are really impressively thin. Just looking at the USB-C port and SIM tray on the opposite side of the phone, users can easily imagine how amazingly thin the device is.
Even the rear camera cluster (which may include 3 lenses and LED flash) of the phone is not too thick. And when you hold the Oppo Find N5 folded up, it basically feels like a regular phone, both in terms of screen area and thickness. The thinness of the Oppo Find N really becomes apparent when placed next to other foldable phones. Compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which is 5.6mm thick, the Oppo Find N5 is significantly thinner, expected to be 4.2mm. Compared to other foldable phones like the Pixel 9 Pro Fold and OnePlus Open, the Oppo Find N5 is clearly the thinnest of the bunch.
The Oppo Find N5 isn’t too heavy either, at least for a foldable, which solves another common problem with large foldable smartphones.
Thinness aside, the Oppo Find N5 is a gorgeous looking device with its flat, beveled edges and symmetrical camera block. The white version is especially nice, too, with its marble-like matte glass back. According to the promotional material, there is also a simpler black version, for those who prefer a darker tone on their phones. Additionally, the flagship also has an alert slider on the left side of the phone, a signature feature of OnePlus phones that partner Oppo has decided to copy for its own devices. Notably, the folding screen inside the Oppo phone is barely visible, which is a big advantage when compared to other products.
