Unfortunately, as spotted by SamMobile, the Samsung Internet extension for Chrome has been experiencing issues for the past few weeks. The reason for this is that when users try to log in, they are redirected to the website samsunginternet.com. However, this domain has now expired.
So how long has this extension been down? According to reviews on the Chrome Web Store, the problem has been going back to at least October 29. A few Reddit posts about the issue date back about 10 to 11 days.
Let’s hope Samsung fixes this issue as soon as possible. An extension that doesn’t work is bad, but an expired domain is also a security risk as bad actors can buy it and redirect unsuspecting users to phishing sites, malware, and other dangers.
