Now that the dust has settled on the new Galaxy S25 Ultra, it’s time for fans to dig a little deeper. Here are five little-known details about Samsung’s new flagship.
1. The Galaxy S25 Ultra has a 16GB RAM version
All Galaxy S25 models come with 12GB of RAM, which is one of the big upgrades over the standard Galaxy S25 from previous years.
Like the Google Pixel 9 Pro or OnePlus 13 series, the Galaxy S25 Ultra has a 16GB RAM version. However, this version is only available in China and South Korea.
Clearly, fierce competition and a greater focus on specs in those markets have convinced Samsung to sell a phone with higher specs.
2. MUCH BETTER SPEAKERS
The speakers on the Galaxy S25 Ultra sound much better than before! Notably, Samsung didn’t mention that during its launch event.
The speakers on the Galaxy S24 Ultra are just okay, not great, especially compared to the iPhone 16 Pro Max, which is really booming.
Thankfully, the Galaxy S25 Ultra speakers deliver more power and clarity in the low frequencies, making listening to podcasts on your phone much more enjoyable.
3. Bixby is gone
Bixby is no longer present on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, and in its place is Gemini, which is much more powerful.
Previously, pressing and holding the power button would bring up Bixby, which was known for its ability to tweak system settings. Now, Samsung has brought some system access to Gemini.
However, tweaking system settings on the Galaxy S25 Ultra is currently a bit of a hassle: users will have to go into the settings app and start a voice search from there!
4. Prominent camera ring!
At first glance, the Galaxy S25 Ultra has a larger rear camera than the Galaxy S24 Ultra thanks to a larger camera ring around the lens. The fact is, those camera rings are just cosmetic!
Phone expert JerryRigEverything has discovered that the prominent camera ring is just a plastic accessory and serves no real purpose other than creating the illusion of a larger camera on the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
5. Comes with free subscriptions
For those who decide to buy the Galaxy S25 Ultra early, they will receive a number of free subscription services. Of course, this may depend on where users buy the phone.
